The primary responsibility of this position is to provide accurate defect related analysis relating to efforts to implement advanced technology nodes in Malta to meet GLOBALFOUNDRIESâ technology roadmap requirements. Optimization of throughput and tool utilization for manufacturability in preparation for the eventual transfer to mass production in GF 300mm facilities is the final goal. Specific Responsibilities â ¢ Formulate effective inline inspection strategy & methodology to support advanced technology development activities. â ¢ Drive continuous improvement to streamline CFM workflow on defect detection efficiency and defect monitoring. â ¢ Establish DOIs defect characterization techniques and drive inline CFM recipes optimization and innovation to meet defect capture rate. â ¢ Drive equipment vendors to improve or optimized applications for development requirements â ¢ Define and maintain relevant defect matrixes for product performance, reliability, yield, and breakeven utilization targets for cost optimization. â ¢ Design, execute and analyze partition studies to evaluate process results or equipment baseline performances with a view to achieve industry competitive standards. â ¢ Provide effective leadership and mentorship for defect technicians executing defect scans or data reviews in support of the program. â ¢ Required hands-on for day to day review of information, evaluation of defect monitoring strategies and understanding of defect mechanisms with the mindset of making a difference. â ¢ Required to work in a clean-room environment to supervise, execute or oversee activities. Specific Responsibilities\: â ¢ Formulate effective inline inspection strategy & methodology to support advanced technology development activities. â ¢ Establish DOIs defect characterization techniques and drive inline CFM recipes optimization and innovation to meet defect capture rate. â ¢ Setup and optimized each layers recipe for optimal DOIs capture rate. Ability to work with the recipe team to achieve the intended result. â ¢ Support critical yield learning and prototype lots inspection and result analysis based on committed cycle time. â ¢ Design, execute and analyze partition studies to evaluate process results or equipment baseline performances to achieve industry competency standards. â ¢ Drive defect characterization and compile comprehensive defect translation (DSA) ; PFA analysis in their sectors. Measurement by the number of Defect Characterization report for each sector. â ¢ Demonstrate the ability to isolate suspected processes and drive modules/integration in defect reduction activity. â ¢ Demonstrate the ability and initiative to ensure proper documentation and work closely with recipe and inline ops team. â ¢ Required hands-on for day to day review of information, evaluation of defect monitoring strategies and understanding of defect mechanisms with the mindset of making a difference. â ¢ Support integration and module in their sector DOE splits and CFM data analysis with the ability to draw technical conclusions. â ¢ Maintain top inline Defect Pareto & trend charts updated, performed deep dive on all sectors to understand defect mechanism and work with PI/UP for containment/solutions. â ¢ Work proactively & innovatively to look for issue in assigned area and constantly improve our defect detection capability and NV rate â ¢ Drive continuous improvement to streamline CFM workflow on defect detection efficiency and defect monitoring. â ¢ Take ownership and initiate value-added inspection/review solution to help improve overall team efficiency in defect detection â ¢ Drive wafer less recipe setup thru Design Based methodology & GDS2CA. â ¢ Evaluate and implement Design Based Inspection solution and SMART review concept for all inline scan. â ¢ Provide effective leadership and mentorship for defect technicians executing defect scans or data reviews in support of the program. â ¢ Required to work in a clean-room environment to supervise, execute or oversee activities. â ¢ Always work as a team and be flexible and resourceful to achieve the best result on a given timeline. â ¢ Demonstrate the ability to do the RIGHT thing and share the RIGHT method to improve our capability/productivity. â ¢ Positions include shift schedules, including evenings and weekends. GLOBALFOUNDRIES is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing support across all shifts.

Qualification:

Required Qualifications\: â ¢ BS degree with 4years experience; MS degree with a minimum of 1year experience in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or related technical fields. â ¢ Possess strong communication skills with the ability to develop the strong inter-personnel relationship. â ¢ Some international travel (duration\: 3-6 months) may be required â ¢ Candidates for this position are expected to work in night shift system including weekendcoverage. Preferred Qualifications\: â ¢ An advanced technical degree and/or a proven record in an industry leader is strongly preferred. â ¢ Experience with bright field and dark field inspection tools including tool maintenance and recipe development. Familiarize with KT defect scan and HMI e-beam scan tools are strongly desired. â ¢ Working experience in CMOS process and process module/equipment (200mm/300mm) are strongly desired. â ¢ Experience working with a vendor in equipment procurement is highly desired. â ¢ Working knowledge in SPC or DOE methodology is preferred. â ¢ Prior employment in a vendor specializing in defect tool applications would have a strong advantage. â ¢ Knowledge of JMP/Klarity Defect software platforms.
