The Human Resources Coordinator works closely with Human Resources Management and the Senior Director of Administrator on the operational functions of the department in the New York office.? Primary areas of responsibility include recruitment and on-boarding for all staff positions, HRIS data maintenance, and coordination with payroll, benefits and other departments. In this highly visible role the HR Coordinator will serve as the local representative for benefits administration, employee relations and all other human resources initiatives. In addition, the HR Coordinator will have responsibility for special departmental projects. The Human Resources Coordinator is a main contact for employees and candidates in New York on all human resources and benefit questions. ? ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. STAFF RECRUITMENT/EMPLOYMENT ?Assists in coordinating the recruitment process for all staff positions ?Develops position descriptions and postings according to requirements ?Utilizes effective recruiting sources by working with recruitment firms, placing advertisements, networking and following up on internal referrals ?Pre-screens applicants, administers skills testing, conducts initial interviews and refers candidates to hiring managers based on qualifications, gathers feedback from interviews ?Maintains applicant tracking database ?Communicates with applicants regarding the status of their applications ? ?Arranges for temporary help when needed by departments ?Conducts reference checks on all new hires ?Sends out intake notices, employee transfer & departure notices ?Coordinates new hire orientation and technology training schedule for new hires ?Conducts new hire orientation reviewing general Firm policies and procedures ? 2. BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION Supports the benefits department as the point of contact for all benefit related questions Coordinates open enrollment activities for the office ensuring full participation Administers the transit program for NY office ?Assists with coordination of health & welfare and retirement educational programs ?Supports year end process to update annual benefit changes in HRIS 3. ADDITIONAL HR RESPONSIBILITIES Works with HR team in entering all employee changes (including new hires, promotions, salary, titles, address, status, etc.) in HRIS and other HR-related systems Interacts with Payroll Department to ensure the smooth flow of documentation ?Adheres to the (4) different pay cycles to ensure HR and benefit updates are processed timely for payroll Supports the Senior Director of Administration and Administrative Management team leaders as needed on personnel issues, including serving as 2nd chair to counseling or performance related discussions. Assists with the yearly staff evaluation set up and monitoring process Assist attorney recruitment team with applicant disposition, scheduling and interview support as needed Assist with the coordination of employee relations events such as holiday events, staff appreciation week, staff recognition programs and other employee relations activities Completes unemployment and employee verification requests Monitors and implements any state and local compliance changes in coordination with the HR team. Maintains Firm-wide HR intranet page QUALIFICATIONS: ? College degree in business related field with high GPA. HR coursework highly desired Previous law firm experience in HR department with progressive responsibilities Strong recruitment experience including entry level through professional level positions Experience working with ATS, HRIS and other HR related software Excellent computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite. ? Excellent written and verbal communication skills Responsible, Professional and Self-Motivated; able to work independently Ability to maintain confidentiality Highly organized and detail oriented with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
