Position Overview The Account Director at Method Communications is a mid-level management role that leads and executes across a diverse portfolio of client accounts. Acting as a strategic voice to our clients and as a manager to a diverse set of team members, you will drive the creation, development and execution of PR programs. Responsibilities Account Management and Execution: Provide high-level, strategic guidance and counsel for clients, charting your team towards well-conceptualized PR programs Work with Account Supervisors and senior management to develop realistic goals for internal team members and for clients Encompass a strong executive presence when providing ideas, counsel and feedback to clients and internal teams Oversee all projects and initiatives, while allowing team members to own and execute projects Assign and delegate roles and responsibilities across internal teams to ensure successful outcomes Media: Use deep relationships and experience to pitch reporters across vertical segments and develop strong written content Able to review and provide guidance on media requests, briefing books and backgrounders, and actively identifies new reporters and storylines that make sense for the client Maintain strong relationships that translate into positive media relations for clients Business Development: Promote continual growth and learning through new client experiences When appropriate, initiate tough conversations with clients and provide feedback to management Play an active role in knowledge sharing and develop initiatives that help shape the future direction of the company Actively leverage existing relationships for business development and participate in new client pitches Agency Leadership: Act as a mentor for designated direct reports, identifying goals and providing guidance and feedback on performance during coaching sessions Deliver constructive and clear feedback to ensure level requirements are met and the correct action is taken, when necessary Advocate for continued learning and personal professional growth, and have an understanding mentality to leading and managing multiple people and clients from diverse backgrounds Have a strong, positive presence within the agency Requirements 6+ years of agency and/or in-house communications, or related field Demonstrated experience building, conceptualizing and executing integrated communications programs that align with client/company business goals and objectives Senior level management experience, and/or experience growing a practice area or agency Strong editing and writing capabilities, able to teach PR and marketing across teams Established relationships with media, including journalists, analysts and influencers Adaptable management style; fit to manage others and oversee multiple direct reports with different managerial requirements, working on both hard and soft skill development Collaborative, team-oriented individual with a big-picture mindset Passion for work and commitment to developing skills and helping team members learn on a daily basis To Apply If youre excited about learning and growing in a fast-paced, dynamic and supportive environment and ready to work with cutting-edge tech startups and billion-dollar brands the consider joining our team.
